Each of the CRM solutions is something exceptional, so it is not clear which one is the best. In general, however, the best solution meets the most customer requirements and criteria.
In this section we will focus on the basic differences of CRM systems. Software solutions are available in two versions (but not a condition), namely: - cloud version, - on premise (self-hosted) version.
Cloud technologies are currently very popular because they provide flexible data management and 24-hour access from anywhere - all you need is an internet connection. Your data is stored on European servers (GDPR regulation) by a software solution provider. This version of the product is ready for use and has no installation. All you have to do is sign up / register, invite colleagues, and start working with your company's portal right away.
ON PREMISE (SELF-HOSTED) VERSION
This version is installed on your company's server or on your hosting provider's server. It guarantees full control over the entire system and provides additional options for customizing the product for your needs.
There are several cases where companies are expected to opt for this product version. And that: - if the law requires data to be stored in a particular location, - if you need access to the source code, - if you don't want to use the cloud due to internal policies, - if you need tools that are not available in the cloud. This software product is installed on a server located in your company or on a hosting provider's server.
Below are the basic differences between CRM systems. In the second part of this article, we will focus on comparison from a functional point of view.
